San Francisco Church

The San Francisco Catholic Church was built around 1830.

Our trip to Golden led to the San Francisco Church and the cemetery. As we parked Kathy looked across the grounds towards the church and directed me to take pictures of the grave site below.

While I see nothing within the image, she explained that she had seen a young woman, digging a grave by hand, on her knees in the rain.

The church is being maintained and their are boxes to make donations in around the grounds.

Golden is located along the Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway, Golden is about ten miles north of the Sandia Park junction on NM 14.
