Legendary Gunslinger. John Henry Holliday was born in Griffin, Georgia, on August 14,1851, to Henry Burroughs and Alice Jane Holliday. "Doc" Holliday's father was a druggist, planter and soldier. Doc Holliday enrolled in dental college in 1870 and on March 1,1872, the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery held its commencement and conferred a Doctor of Dental Surgery upon him. He later opened an office in Atlanta in 1872. Sometime after this, he discovered he had tuberculosis and because of this he was advised to move to a dry climate. After a while on the road he arrived in Tombstone sometime in 1880. Doc Holliday died at Glenwood Springs Colorado on November 8, 1887. His last words were reported to be "This is funny."

Several grave markers have been used over the years. The one on top is the most recent. The one in the middle was placed on the grave in the 60's. The one below however is of interest. Many investigator suspect, based on the limited markings, that this is Doc's actual grave.

Doc Holliday's body was kept and held at a secret location. It is believed that only a few people today, know Doc's exact resting place.
