Ogilby, CA
The town of Ogilby is now a ghost town. Ogilby had been a small town of workers for the American Girl Mine and a loading area for the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Town was established about 1858

A few foundations of a school and building are all that remain, along with a cemetery.

The town served a local mine and also the Southern Pacific Railroad, which is right next to the town.

Chinese workers are reported buried in the cemetery, however candles and other items left at some of the graves may indicate Mexican laborers are here as well.

Although Kathy did not note any activity around the site, our parrot, which had never flown before, took off like a bat out of hell, when we approached the graves. It took us two hours to track him down.

Ogilby is right by several ATV routes which is bothersome, however I did observe one rider stop and take a moment to view the graves.
