PALMETTO, NV

Thinking that the local Joshua Trees were related to Palm Trees, local prospectors named the camp Palmetto in 1860.

Although a local stamp mill worked the ore, the town died from lack of profitability.

New prospecting in 1903 caused the town to grown to 200 tents on a platted hillside.

At it's peak, in 1906 the town contained all in needed along Main St.
