SWANSEA

Swansea, founded in 1870, was the site of two furnaces used by the Owens Lake Company (competitor to Cerro Gordo). Though very little remains today, at its peak, Swansea had a population of 2,200. The remains include a few bits remaining of the silver-lead furnace and a stone cabin that was once the stagecoach stop.

Swansea is located on CA-136 just south of Dolomite
