THE SYCAMORE INN
Bear Gulch
Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Route 66

Part of the Rancho land grant, the site of the Inn was one of the Butterfield Stage stops. Many a gun battle occurred in Bear Gulch.
Several murders related to the Inn remain unsolved according to their website.

The original stage stop burned down and the new building was built in the 1920's.

Upstairs was once a brothel, complete with bar and parlor.

Both the upper rooms and basement appear to have permanent residents.

Kathy reported and the staff confirmed the belief that at least one girl and man walk the halls of Sycamore Inn.

Kathy felt multiple presences, including several children.

She pointed out a location in the dining room, she felt a man sitting alone at a table.

The basement housed a speak-easy during Prohibition and is reportedly the drinking spot of mobsters.

Several wine cellars hold a treasure trove of exotic wines.

Secret passage ways? Escape routes?

Guests in the original dining room, once used the tree's to hide their liquor from raids.

Even the bathroom pictures are said to scare some.

The Sycamore Inn is a wonderful place, an American Treasure "AND" a great place to eat. The food is excellent, the staff wonderful and we plan more trips back.

Of course, I want to eat. Kathy wants to explore the spirits that remain.
